Statistics on child sexual abuse reflect the need for such training as 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. The median age for reported sexual abuse is 9 years old. To reduce these figures, the YWCA Lincoln in partnership with Lincoln's Child Advocacy Center hosts the "Stewards of Children" a sexual abuse prevention and response training program.  

A man accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl is now in custody. Otis Edward Hambright Jr., 61, of Mooresville turned himself into the Iredell County Sheriff's Office on Friday morning, said Lt. Bill Hamby of the ICSO Special Victims Unit. Hamby said that on June 29, a 12-year-old girl reported she had been sexually assaulted. A TEENAGE rapist was locked up for eight years after he first targeted his victim when she was only nine. Daniel Salter, 19, pictured, from Middlesbrough, was still denying he was guilty when he was locked up at Teesside Crown Court yesterday after also being ordered to register as a sex offender for life. He claimed the girl, who is now 14, was lying at his trial in June when a jury convicted him of all 15 sex charges.  

A former ice cream truck vendor who sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl almost two years ago was sentenced Friday to 107 years in prison. A Calgary psychiatrist who frequently provided expert opinions in court now faces 21 charges of sexual assault, most of which allegedly took place during court-ordered visits. Dr. Aubrey Levin, 71, was first arrested and charged in March after allegations that he repeatedly assaulted a 36-year-old patient. A Merseyside man who sexually abused a seven-year-old girl more than 35 years ago has received a nine-month suspended sentence. David Bennett, 55, of Bebington, admitted gross indecency with a child and indecent assault on a child. A Logan County man is now behind bars and facing allegations of child sexual abuse. A 25-year-old Concord man was arrested yesterday evening on charges he sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl. Matthew Sanborn, whose street address was not given, was charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and felonious sexual assault. Concord police Sgt. John Thomas said last night that Sanborn is alleged to have assaulted the girl in a Concord residence, but he declined to be more specific.
